The Thymus Gland and Massage

The thymus gland and massage

The thymus gland, located in the upper, front part of the chest, is a key organ of the lymphatic system.
Very little is commonly known about it: so tiny, so essential, and one might even say mysterious.

It is well developed in newborns and young children, reaching its peak activity around the age of three. It continues to grow until puberty, when it reaches its maximum size of around 30 grams, though not its peak function. After puberty, thymus tissue gradually begins to diminish and is replaced by fatty tissue.

It plays an important role in the maturation of T lymphocytes, our body's defence cells, as well as in supporting the immune system. It is also known as the happiness point, because gentle stimulation through light tapping or soft massage helps encourage and lift
positive energy while easing tension. It serves as a direct link between body and mind. Daily stimulation paired with deep breathing helps encourage a balanced flow of energy, bringing harmony to brain function and supporting overall wellbeing. You may feel this energy flow as a gentle, tingling sensation.

Each of us can nurture our own wellbeing, and in our studio, we gently stimulate your happiness point with a soothing touch at the end of your treatment.
