Advice for Clients

Advice for clients

When coming for a massage to enjoy a professional service, here is what we recommend:

  • Set aside enough time, plan your session, and never rush, otherwise you simply will not be able to unwind properly!
  • Let your therapist know if you have any health conditions, and respect the guidelines on contraindications for massage that we have previously covered.

There is a thoughtful etiquette when it comes to visiting a massage studio. Good personal hygiene is a given, and it is also very helpful to avoid eating a heavy meal about an hour and a half before your treatment. Massage stimulates circulation in the treated areas, temporarily diverting blood flow from the digestive system, which can cause mild digestive discomfort.

When selecting a massage, choose one that matches your personal sensibility and needs, whether you are looking for therapeutic benefits or simply seeking relaxation and stress relief.

When choosing a massage studio and service, look for trusted recommendations. Go where the dedication and professionalism shown to you are complete and genuine. If a therapist is multitasking during your session, interrupting the massage to answer phone calls or text messages, that is not the right therapist for you, as the focus is purely commercial.

There are properly trained therapists and self-taught practitioners. Do not let anyone improvise with your body. An unqualified "therapist" can pose serious health risks. In practice, there have been cases where clients with thrombosis were massaged because the "therapist" did not know this was contraindicated. If you want a proper, reliable massage, choose your therapist just as you would choose your doctor, dentist, or aesthetician, not merely for a one-off visit, but for the long term.

During the massage, feel free to tell your therapist whether the pressure feels comfortable. If anything feels unpleasant or painful, do mention it right away so your treatment remains beneficial and thoroughly enjoyable.

Arrive with positive thoughts and in good spirits, because when you bring good energy, you receive good energy in return. Enjoy the senses we have been given to appreciate life, and that includes your massage!

As for how often you should have a massage, once a week is usually sufficient for people with regular physical activity levels, if your schedule allows. For athletes and those engaged in intense exercise who experience significant physical strain, frequent sessions, ideally soon after training, can help ease tension, support recovery, and help the body return to a relaxed state.
