Cellulite and How to Tackle It

Cellulite is a common concern for most women today. Fat deposits and accumulated toxins under the skin can weaken connective tissue, appearing as dimples or an orange-peel texture. These deposits typically build up around the thighs, buttocks and abdomen.
Cellulite is primarily an aesthetic concern, but it can also cause physical discomfort, as it may become quite painful in its later stages.
Causes of cellulite include:
- Genetic factors
- A poor diet high in fats, spices and carbohydrates
- A sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical activity
- Hormonal factors (oestrogen, thyroid hormones, insulin)
Stages of cellulite:
- Invisible to the naked eye, with fine dimples visible only when pinching the skin
- Noticeable to the touch and when standing
- Visible both when standing and lying down
- Fibrous cellulite, featuring firm nodules that are tender or painful to the touch

We recommend starting treatments straight after your period, ideally in a course of 10 sessions, combined with a diet rich in fibre and whole foods, drinking at least 2 litres of water a day, and moderate physical activity.
